Hi everyone

Just a quick reminder that Knit Happens will be closed on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. However we will be hosting Knit ‘N’ Nosh on Friday night. All those who are in town for the Sheeps and the Wools should make plans to stop by and have some snacks and wine before the weekend.

Hope to you see on Friday!!!

… or we will be tomorrow. I finally got off of the phone with Verizon and got the internet back up and running again! Thank goodness! I was having flashbacks all weekend to The Time Before the Internet where you had to do everything by hand. Thanks so much everyone for your patience!

With that fire out, now I can work on finalizing the class schedule and sending that email out. What’s that you say? You don’t get our email newsletter? We can fix that – right from this page. Scroll down the page and you will see our sign-up form. Enter in your information, and you’re all set! If you can’t remember if you’ve entered your info in before, go ahead and reenter it – you will only receive one email from me, no matter how many times you put your email address in. (Provided that you’ve given me the same email each time.) Worried about your information being out there? Don’t. The list is private. Only I have access to that info – and I won’t sell it to anyone, for any price. So, what are you waiting for? Sign up so you are the first to find out! I’ll still post the schedule on here too, so even if you don’t sign up, you’ll still find out about it! :)

Unfortunately, the internet doesn't like us much today. We're down again and likely will be all weekend. :( We're working on it, though!

Just an FYI, but all internet access is down at the shop. We're working on it, but things will be slow until we can fix it. I'll let know when it's back up. – H

Are you an intermediate knitter who thinks that working in your favorite yarn shop might just be the coolest thing ever? Then this might be for you.

I am looking for 1-2 outgoing people with a fairly flexible schedule who can start in mid-May. All candidates must be knitting/crocheting at an intermediate level and be able to fix mistakes. A good knowledge of yarn is a must.
If you are interested, please email me your resume at hollyATknithappensDOTnet. Include any retail experience you may have had as well as your knitting/crochet experience. If you are member of Ravelry or have a blog, please include that information as well.
I can’t wait to hear from you all!

Knit Happens will be closed on Sunday, April 12 for Easter Sunday. We will, of course, reopen at our normal time on Tuesday, April 14 (just in time to huff some yarn fumes to relax yourself if you haven’t already done your taxes – that’s what I’ll be doing!).

Have a happy and safe holiday!

Yes, only 4 months after the rest of the world (let’s not go into how mad I had to get with the distributor…), but Rowan Magazine 45 is finally in the store!

Michelle is tagging the magazines as I type and placing them all over the store so everyone can find them. :) We’ve got 30 29 copies, so come on by and pick yours up! Can’t get down here because of the holiday? No worries, give us a call or email me and we’ll make sure one is set aside just for you!

First up is the Pints & Purls event next Wednesday evening at Late Night! The artist behind Neighborhood Fiber Company (and good friend), Karida Collins will be here to talk about her new book, Pints & Purls – a bonus: most of the local contributors (which Olga and I are part of) to the book will be here as well to talk about our designs and answer questions… and just sit and knit! Karida hopes that she’ll be able to bring her co-author, Libby Bruce out from Columbus to join in all the fun… Let’s keep our fingers crossed!!

Second is an event most of you (and us, too) have been waiting anxiously for: Wendy Johnson signing copies of her newest book Socks from the Toe Up! Wendy will be here to talk about and show off socks from the book – and she’ll be sitting here and knitting away on her newest socks if you want to grab a chair and just knit! Wendy will be here at 2pm next Saturday, April 18 and we’ll have copies of the book on hand to have her sign.  Want to document the fact that you met Wendy? Bring a camera along and we’ll take a picture for you. :)
Do you really want to make it to the events, but just can’t? Email me at hollyATknithappensDOTnet and let me know – I’ll set aside copies for you and will send them out on Tuesday, April 21.
We hope to see you there!!

Despite the cloudy weather, spring is here and we’re all very excited about it at shop. April is filled with so many activities and I would hate for anyone to miss out. So here’s a quick list of upcoming activities with as much detail as available right now.
