Spring is just around the corner – Saturday, to be exact – and what better way to bring in the new season than by looking at the classes we’re offering in April! We’re keeping the load light on classes this coming month because we have so many events planned (you’ll be hearing more about those later), however, I think that you’ll like what we are offering!
You all will see that we’re beginning to focus on techniques and offering them in one day workshops, as often as possible. This way, you all can plan to attend a class without having to block out weeks on your schedule. (Also, if you have friends traveling into town for the weekend, you can quickly see if there’s a class they may want to take!)
Pattern Reading
Are you a bit hesitant to “graduate” from easy garter, seed and ribbed scarves and blankets just because you’re a bit scared of the idea of reading a pattern? Have you looked at patterns and wondered what all those abbreviations mean? Then this is the class for you. Let Michelle and Holly take some of the mystery out of patterns and get you on your way to knitting more complicated things in no time!
Price: $40
Saturday, 4/4 1-3pm with Michelle
Tuesday, 4/14 7-9pm with Holly

New Techniques for Knitting in the Round
Knitting in the round is such an easy technique, yet so many people get frightened at the idea of working with DPN’s, two circulars, what have you. This is a great class to get over that basic fear and learn some new-to-you techniques!

Thursday, 4/30 7-9pm with Holly

Continental and Combination Knitting

Sunday, 4/5 9am-12pm with Olga

Introduction to Hairpin Lace
Have you seen some of those great patterns from Stitch Diva using the Hairpin Lace technique but have been a bit intimidated to try it out? This class will show you the basics of Hairpin Lace and you’ll be working on those larger garments in no time!

Monday, 4/6 6-8pm with Olga
Supplies needed: DK or Worsted weight smooth yarn (containing silk or viscose), F or G crochet hook, hairpin lace tool
Basic Crochet Techniques for Knitters
Many knitting patterns call for some type of crochet to give a garment that “finishing touch”, however, many knitters are scared to pick up a hook and try to crochet. This class will show you some basic techniques that will take your knitting to the next level!
Price: $50
Monday, April 20th 6-9pm with Olga
Supplies needed: 3 worsted weight swatches (each 4×4″ with one still on the needles), G crochet hook
