What might that be? Is it a table… with needles? Yup, it definitely is – the KA Bamboo order came in, complete with the interchangeables! Michelle and I worked all day to get the majority of them out, then Olga and I worked hard to get the rest of them out.

We’re still waiting on the Addi order – however, the Addi Click interchangeables finally came in! Olga and I played with them a bit yesterday and were pleased with the cords, joins and the clicking mechanism to lock those needles on. The needles are nice and lightweight, the cords are super-flexible. Honestly, the only thing that I don’t like about the case is that it doesn’t come with US5s, a needle I use constantly. However, I have plenty of US5s in my stash of needles that it shouldn’t make a big difference.

So, after that was done, Michelle found a great free pattern on the Misti Alpaca site using only one skein of the Chunky. It knit up super quickly – it’s called the Ribs & Ruffles scarf. Despite being a rib, not a purl in the pattern! Michelle got it knit up in record time, too! Really, with just an afternoon or two to sit and knit you’ll have this cute scarf done and can stash it away to give to people for the holidays (or if you’re like me, wear it).

Okay, maybe not completely broken, but definitely hurt. I’ll be hobbling around on crutches for the next few days while my knee heals, so I won’t be able to be up and around as much.

I’ll still be in the store today through closing tonight – so while I may not be able to get up and walk you to the yarn, I’ll still be able to help you in any way I can!

Hopefully, all will be better by next week and I can go back to be the knitting daredevil that I am at heart. :)

Oh, before I forget, for those of you who Twitter, we have a Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/knithappens.va! Check in for the very latest there – or we have a Twitter box on our sidebar to check up on us that way too.

Time for Spring Cleaning. Yes, I know that it’s not officially Spring yet and the weather’s still too iffy to even start thinking about it, however, that’s no reason to not get a jump start on it all! One good way to start is to look through your stash. Are there skeins of yarn in there that you’ll never use, taking up space? What about needles? Have you just looked at them, sighing over the space they take up, but unsure what to do?

Why not donate them to a good cause? The Arlington Housing Corporation provides affordable housing to low and moderate income families, as well as after-school programs and adult workshops. They are starting up a class for their residents on knitting and crochet and are looking for donations of yarn and needles. A great excuse to cull through the stash and make room for more projects! :) Seriously, though, it’s a great idea that I’d love to see become a success.
