Knit Happens

We will be closed Sunday, July 4 so we can all celebrate the holiday with family and friends. We will reopen at 11am Tuesday.

It’s that time of year again, time for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival!  It’s one of our favorite times of year here at Knit Happens – we close the shop and get to go hang out with you and have fun!  I mean, can you think of anything more fun? 

So, on that note, we will be closed both Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd for the festival.  If you see us there, stop us and say hi!  It will be Rachelle and Tiara’s first time at the festival, so share any good tips you’ve got with them.  (I’ve shared mine with them – and it looks like Rachelle has got a plan to her shopping!)

Also, starting Tuesday, May 4th, we will be going to our Spring/Summer hours.  That means we’ll be closing early and opening late a few times a week, but our weekend hours will stay the same.  Also, it means that evening classes will start at 6pm instead of 7pm, so you’ll get home while there’s still light out.  Our new hours will be:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 11-5:30
Wednesday: 11-9
Thursday: 11-5:30
Friday: 10:30-7
Saturday: 10:30-7
Sunday: 12-5

Wow, it’s kind of hard to believe that another year has passed and it’s our birthday again.  Six years ago, we opened our doors, not knowing just what to expect and we have been overwhelmed by your love and support ever since.  Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your lives – without you, we would never have gotten to this milestone (and I would never have been able to use the picture on the left – hey, it was one of my favorite books as a child!), so thank you!

How are we going to celebrate?  How do we always celebrate?  With a HUGE sale, of course!  Yup, this weekend (Saturday 3/13 and Sunday 3/14) the entire store will be 20% off!  Yarn, needles, notions, books, bags, magazines – all 20% off! There will even be a few lines that will be marked down even further – we’ve got to make way for all the spring yarn somehow, right?  We’ll also be giving away special prizes to two lucky people over the weekend, so be sure to make sure your name is in our database!

As usual, we will be marking Insatiable Knitter Cards for all purchases, but we won’t be redeeming them.  The sale prices are good on purchases made in store only, not on special orders or phone orders.

Rachelle and I will be here from 10:30 – 7 on Saturday and Tiara and I will be here from 12 -5 on Sunday; it’s looking like it’s going to be a gloomy, rainy weekend, so why not liven it up with some fun times at the yarn shop? 

So, the holidays are fast approaching and I’m sure that you all want know just when Knit Happens will be open – just in case you need some time away from… the hecticness of the holidays. Or a yarn fix. So the following will be our holiday hours through the beginning of the year.

• Wednesday, November 21 – we will close at 3pm to help our families out with Thanksgiving dinner.
• Thursday, November 22 – Thanksgiving Day, store closed
• Tuesday, December 25 – Christmas Day, store closed
• Wednesday, December 26 – Boxing Day, store closed
• Tuesday, January 1 – New Year’s Day, store closed

In addition to these hours, just as a heads up, we will be closed Wednesday, January 2 through Friday, January 4 for inventory. (If a day isn’t listed – like Christmas Eve – it means that we’re following our regular shop hours.)
